I always loved fishing.I sometimes believe I was actually made for doing this.It started from my early days. when my dad used to take me fishing. We used to pack the fishing rods in the fishing rods carrier and hop in the car for a journey we had no idea would take us where. It was far later I realized that it was a journey to oblivion and bliss.Sadly my father isn't alive today and as much as that memory haunts me I think it is the absolute beauty of a memory that he used to take me fishing. GoldenHobbyist has some great insights on it.I always remembered that his fishing rods carrier used to hold a very special place in his heart. He never even let me touch those. And even though at first I was very angry and used to get really pissed off thinking that he loves his fishing gear and fishing more than his own son.But later I realize that this was not the case. The love that he had for me was different than what he had was way more different to what he had for fishing and all types of other fishing. The thing about us men is that we always tend to have some sort of hobby or something that we love and adore so greatly that we cannot let it go no matter what. Now some might say that they love smoking.I am definitely not talking about those sorts of activities. What I am talking about are sports and healthy activities.Like working out, playing sports, fishing and all sorts of that stuff. Now here some may complain that fishing isn't actually a sport.Well, to disappoint you it is, unfortunately. However, fishing might not be a spectator's sport. But the one who casts, reels and pulls out the fish will thoroughly enjoy every bit of it. Like any other sport, fishing requires a lot of physical exertion and skill. Pulling a huge Trevally or a Marlin out of the water can make even the toughest angler work put a sweat. Now let’s look at fishing. Fishing is of different types. Leisurely fishing involves taking a rod out to the shore and casting it into the water while you spend some quality time with your best buddy or your beloved ones. It can also be going out on a boat and basking in the sun with a few drinks and casting your line out into the water and grabbing any fish that comes along. This doesn’t need any special physical exertion or skill set. Sportfishing on the other hand, unlike the leisure fishing, requires a skill set and it demands physical exertion. Imagine reeling in a Marlin over 100 pounds into your boat.At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter whether fishing is a sport or not as long as you take out your fishing rods carrier and go fishing.
